Hi, I’m Gabriella.

I’m a 42 year old mother of 4 and I am transgender.

I am hoping that you can help me? Yes, You. The person taking the time to read this. Please, I need your help.

Ok let me tell you a bit more about myself. I didn’t start my transition until later in life, 33 to be exact, and it wasn’t an easy path that I took to get to that point. (To be honest, it wasn’t as hard as some Trans-folk have had to endure, I do understand that.) I knew I was different before 14, new what “it” was called at 17 but decided to put off coming out as I was scared and unsure about how the family would react. I didn’t want to risk being thrown out on the streets. So I spent the next 16 years living life the best I could and made the most of what I had. I Fell in love a few times….and got dumped a few times…even managed to have some amazing kids along the way. When age 33 hit, things were more or less pretty good accept for one. Small. Detail…I was not being true to myself. I spoke to my partner at the time and thankfully we agreed that it was time for me to start living the truth. However, Long story short, mistakes were made, the relationship broke down and I ended up a single mum raising my amazing kids alone.

Fast forward to today, I am in a wonderfully loving and nurturing relationship. My kids are doing well and I am….well….happy apart from one. Small. Detail…I can’t afford to complete my transition. Spending a lot of time as a single mother raising 3 kids mostly on my own leaves me with very little money to be able to save the $40,000 needed to get the surgeries to complete me. I don’t come from a wealthy family, or even a well off family for that matter, so asking for them to help loan me the money is not an option.

That is where you wonderful people come in.

Hopefully you have made it this far because I could seriously use your help. I’m just going to say it… I need my surgeries. It effects my day to day life in ways that I can only describe by asking you to imagine… You wake up in the opposite body that you know you were meant to have. What does it feel like to be stuck in that body? On top of that, the only way you could ever feel right again was to have some very costly operations to re-organise your parts to look and feel like what you know they should be. Yet, as fate would have it, you can’t afford the surgeries, you have no savings and no collateral to get a loan? I imagine you are feeling a little helpless at the thought of this scenario. This is my life. Even if I could somehow manage to get a job in this unsupportive employment climate it would literally take me a decade to save every spare dollar I could. That’s not even taking into account the needs of my children as they get older.

Sorry if that got a little heavy, I got a tad derailed.

All I am asking of you is that you donate what you can afford, or are willing to pay, without putting yourself out of pocket. Then please, PLEASE share this campaign with your friends and family so it gets as much exposure as possible. Realistically it will only take 40,000 people donating $1 each to get me the life changing surgeries I need to be complete.

Breast Augmentation

Flights to and from Thailand

Accommodation for a month which is needed for follow ups

General Living expenses for the month.
